WWE’s Stance on Cody Rhodes Heel Turn Revealed

Current WWE creative direction does not include plans for Cody Rhodes to transition into a heel character, according to a recent report from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select. Rhodes is expected to continue as a babyface for the remainder of 2025.

The report suggests Rhodes himself was not in favor of a heel turn, citing robust ticket and merchandise sales during his current top babyface run. WWE is reportedly in agreement with this assessment.

Previously, The Rock had pitched an idea for Rhodes to turn heel leading into WrestleMania 41. This concept was later altered, with discussions shifting to a potential heel turn for John Cena instead.

While The Rock hinted post-WrestleMania that a Rhodes heel turn could be explored in the future, current internal plans reportedly do not reflect this direction.
