The WWE roster was out of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, by the time the city was hit by another missile attack on Sunday. Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported the news.
But Johnson noted that some WWE staff were still in the city and were likely helping to break down the arena and production from Crown Jewel. So far, there has been no word on anyone associated with WWE being affected by the attack.
“For those who have asked about the news that there was another missile attack on Riyadh, Saudi Arabia today and were concerned, the WWE roster was long gone before the attack happened. There would still be some WWE staff in the city, likely those helping to break down the arena and production, but we have not heard any anyone associated to the company being affected.”
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy reported that debris from intercepted missiles damaged an Aramco office building in the King Abdullah Financial District, Riyadh’s financial district.
No one was injured in the attack, which was blamed on Yemen’s Houthi rebel group.
WWE held Crown Jewel on Saturday at The Venue (ANB Arena), less than 24 hours before the attack. The show was originally scheduled for Riyadh Season Stadium in the same King Abdullah Financial District, but it was moved to an indoor arena on October 28 amid security concerns in the area.
