WWE SmackDown is close to ending, at least temporarily, its current run as a three-hour show.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the June 26 episode will be the last three-hour edition. Starting July 3, the show will return to its two-hour format under an arrangement described as six months with an expanded runtime and six months under the traditional model.

The change is not happening in isolation. The schedule will need to make room for the second season of Everything on the Menu With Braun Strowman, the food series starring former WWE Superstar Braun Strowman, which returned in early June.

The new season features appearances from names such as Alexa Bliss, Mark Henry, T.I., Killer Mike, and Ron Funches.

SmackDown had already gone through a similar move recently. The show became a three-hour program in January 2025, returned to two hours in July of that year, and once again received the extra hour at the start of 2026.

The change also comes at an important time for WWE, as the company is in the middle of the King of the Ring and Queen of the Ring tournaments, which will hold their finals at Night of Champions.
