WWE may have a new issue outside the ring just before a major stretch outside the United States.
According to Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline, the company is currently dealing with “significant visa issues.” It is not yet known which talents have been affected, or whether the situation could lead to immediate changes to WWE programming.
The timing stands out. Next week’s episode of Monday Night RAW will take place in London and air in a special time slot, while the roster will then head to Saudi Arabia for Friday Night SmackDown and Night of Champions. The premium live event is officially scheduled for June 27 at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh.
This type of issue has become increasingly common in U.S. pro wrestling. In AEW, Komander and The Beast Mortos have been away from U.S. shows due to visa issues, forcing Tony Khan to look for alternatives involving the ROH World Tag Team Championship.
TNA dealt with a similar situation in January. Dani Luna was unable to challenge Léi Yǐng Lee for the TNA Knockouts World Championship at Genesis, while Leon Slater was pulled from his X-Division Championship defense for the same reason.
WWE is facing “significant visa issues” right now.

WWE itself had also been working in recent months to secure work visas for more AAA names, as part of the company’s effort to expand the Mexican promotion’s presence on its programming. According to Dave Meltzer, El Hijo del Vikingo was the only AAA name under a full-time deal at that point, but WWE was trying to clear other wrestlers who were being used regularly on television.
For now, there is no confirmation that any Night of Champions match or upcoming weekly show has been changed because of the situation.
