“The Cleaner” Kenny Omega isn’t looking for a fight with Jade Cargill. He’s taking it as flattery.

On night two of WWE WrestleMania 42 Sunday, during Cargill’s WWE Women’s Championship bout with “Mami” Rhea Ripley, Cargill pulled out Omega’s protected One Winged Angel, a spot Michael Cole quickly renamed “the Sandstorm” on commentary. Ripley kicked out at two, and the moment lit up social media within minutes, splitting fans between those calling it a tribute and those arguing the AEW star’s finisher had no business on a WWE stage.

Omega broke his silence Monday on X, without ever naming Cargill or the company.

“When I see the moves I do elsewhere, I only take it as a compliment. If somehow I inspired people to use them, I can only be grateful. Besides, seeing the OWA on the WM ring was kinda neat, right? It’s all good with me!” Omega wrote.

Cargill lost the match after Iyo Sky ran down to neutralize the Baddie Section interfering at ringside, opening the door for Ripley to hit Rip Tide and walk out with the title.

For Omega, the tone elsewhere hasn’t been as warm. “The Cleaner” came up short against MJF at AEW Dynasty on April 12 in Vancouver, dropping the AEW World Championship match after “The Salt of the Earth” put him through a table and landed the Heat Seeker. Omega is still managing the aftermath of diverticulitis, an illness that forced surgeons to remove roughly a foot of his intestines in May 2024 and kept him on the shelf for more than a year.
