Sol Ruca walked into Las Vegas expecting to punch the clock at WWE World and handle some press. She walked out as the newest member of the “WWE Raw” roster, having just gone toe-to-toe with new Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan on the post-WrestleMania 42 edition of the red brand. According to Ruca herself, that was very much not the plan.

Speaking on the official “WWE Raw” Recap show, the former Women’s North American Champion explained that her call-up came together on the fly.

“It feels absolutely incredible. This is not what I was expecting at all. I came here to do (WWE) World matches, some media stuff, and then a few days in they were like, ‘Actually, you’re gonna be on Raw,'” Ruca said. “Honestly I thought it was gonna be a crowd shot or a backstage or what have you. And getting here they were like, ‘Promo, match, interviews, all that.'”

Ruca admitted the short runway was actually a blessing, as less preparation time kept her nerves in check. The bigger unknown was how a “Raw” crowd fresh off a “Mania” weekend would receive an “NXT” call-up. The answer came the second she opened her mouth.

“As soon as I said my first line they popped, and I was like, ‘Okay, they know who I am,'” Ruca explained.

Morgan took the non-title win via Oblivion after Zaria interfered at ringside and drove Ruca into the ring post. Ruca gets her shot at payback tonight, as the two former tag team partners meet in a Last Woman Standing Match in the main event of week two of “NXT Revenge” from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. Michael Cole confirmed on commentary that Ruca is now officially a “Raw” roster member.
