Kevin Owens has come to the defense of three important behind-the-scenes names in WWE, amid the negative reaction sparked by a TKO video about the talent relations department.
The post highlighted John Cone, Aggie Dent and Zachary Maxwell, who spoke about their daily work with the company’s contracted wrestlers. The video was met with criticism from fans, mainly due to the atmosphere created by WWE’s recent layoffs.
Owens, however, made a point of separating the two issues. On his X profile, the Prizefighter stated that Cone, Dent and Maxwell are among the best people he has met in 26 years of pro wrestling, adding that they have no involvement in roster cut decisions.
“John, Zach and Aggie are some of the best people I’ve met in my 26 years in wrestling. They don’t get nearly enough recognition for what they do for all the men and women you see on WWE television every week.
It’s unfortunate to see some folks go after them for decisions that have absolutely nothing to do with them.
To the contrary, these 3 go above and beyond every week to help your favorite wrestler any way they can.
Each of them has gone out of their way multiple times for me and my family and I can’t overstate how grateful I am to have them as colleagues.”
The statement stands out precisely because Owens remains away from the ring. The wrestler is recovering from neck surgery performed in July 2025, and recently admitted on WWE LFG that he is losing his mind away from the wrestling environment.
His last match was against Sami Zayn at Elimination Chamber 2025. Since then, WWE has not announced any official timeline for his return to the ring.
