Add as a preferred source on Google The New Day’s WWE exit is still sending shockwaves. Kevin Owens broke his silence today on social media. He addressed the departures of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods directly.
Owens paid tribute to his former locker room mates. He praised both men for their character. He also remembered his brief stint as an honorary New Day member on TV.
“Fantastic wrestler and an even better human being. Same can be said for Woods. Thank you guys for allowing me to join you guys for that one week…and seriously, I’m so sorry for turning on you.”
Kingston responded as well. The veteran said it took him two full days to answer the flood of support messages.
The New Day’s exit comes during a tense stretch for the company. WWE just executed one of the largest talent cuts in its history following WrestleMania 42. More than 20 names made the list.
The cuts hit heavy hitters too. WWE released Kairi Sane, Aleister Black, and Zelina Vega. The company also let go the members of The Wyatt Sicks, along with several others.
