Sami Zayn was caught on camera apparently telling Trick Williams what to do during their match on Friday’s WWE SmackDown. The exchange in the video wasn’t part of the storyline.
Zayn can be seen talking to Williams at different points in the match. He can be heard in the video, and the way the two move around the ring shows that the Undisputed WWE Champion was calling spots to set up the moves.
The video also got a reaction from wrestling fans, who praised Zayn for the way he led Williams. Talking to an opponent in the ring is part of wrestling, but it isn’t always noticed by fans watching at home.
Look closely. Sami Zayn was literally giving Trick Williams instructions on what sequence to follow so everything would look perfect. I don’t think there’s any issue between Sami and Trick, despite what people assumed earlier. https://t.co/ZHxCJVOnz4

It happened in the SmackDown main event at the Charleston Coliseum in Charleston, West Virginia. Williams, the United States Champion, was wrestling in his first WWE world title match.
Nick Aldis had to restart the match under no disqualification rules after Johnny Gargano got involved. Zayn retained his title after hitting Williams with a low blow and a belt shot.
Zayn is now set to face World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel on Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
