Add as a preferred source on Google Lyra Valkyria ended her partnership with Bayley on this week’s WWE RAW, which took place at The O2 Arena in London on the red brand’s final show before Night of Champions.
The split happened right after Bayley and Valkyria lost to Paige and Brie Bella in a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match that opened the show.
The match featured plenty of action, with the challengers coming close to winning at several points. However, Paige was able to counter an attempted Night Wing and hit her finisher on Valkyria to retain the titles.
After the match, Bayley tried to keep morale high, saying they would get another chance. Valkyria’s reaction, however, was completely unexpected. The Irish star threw Bayley neck-first into the ropes and continued attacking her until referees and WWE officials pulled her away.
Lyra then returned to the ring and hit Bayley with a Night Wing, making it clear that their alliance had definitively come to an end.
Paige and Brie Bella won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 42, when Paige replaced Nikki Bella and returned to the WWE ring after more than eight years away.
