NJPW, which has continued to expand its reach with international fans, has announced a partnership with JapanesePod101 to teach Japanese through pro wrestling.
According to the company’s announcement, the project will feature a series of collaborative videos over the coming weeks and months, focused on terms used by fans, wrestlers, and inside Japanese arenas.
The idea is to help fans become more familiar with common expressions tied to NJPW culture, especially those who watch events with the original Japanese audio or want to better understand promos, chants, and crowd interactions.
JapanesePod101 already offers a large library of audio and video lessons, along with study tools, vocabulary lists, and content aimed at different learning levels.

The partnership will also work the other way. For regular users of the language-learning platform, the videos will serve as an entry point into NJPW and an important part of Japanese sports culture.
NJPW had already been working to make its product easier for fans outside Japan to follow. NJPW World, for example, offers live and on-demand streaming, English commentary for major events, and subtitled backstage interviews.
In the United States, a subscription to the service costs $9.99 every 30 days, keeping NJPW accessible to part of the audience that follows the promotion from abroad.
NJPW will also have a major presence in the American market soon, with the opening night of this year’s G1 Climax set for July 11 at NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
