The relationship between Triple H and The Rock has once again become a topic among fans, this time because of a statement from Jonathan Coachman.
During The Coach & Bro Show, Coachman claimed the two never liked each other backstage, despite the friendly image shown in productions such as WWE: Unreal, the Netflix series that shows part of the company’s creative process.
According to the former WWE commentator, the main reason Triple H would have an issue with The Rock is jealousy.
“Last night, as I watched that roast, there’s a lot of underlying truth to a lot of those zingers that they throw at each other. And they were savage last night. And I mean, savage last night. It reminded me of the relationship between Triple H and The Rock that we watch him in Unreal, don’t we? They’re buddy-buddy. And I got to ask Rock this. And I got to ask Rock that. When you and I both know, ’cause we’ve been behind the scenes. I’ve stood in the room. Rock doesn’t like him. Triple H doesn’t like him. But I don’t think it’s ’cause he has issues with Rock. I think it’s ’cause of jealousy.”
Vince Russo, who appeared on the show with Coachman, agreed with that assessment and said this kind of feeling has always carried a lot of weight in pro wrestling.
This is not the first time Coachman has publicly talked about possible tension between the two. In June 2025, he said The Rock and Triple H have been “butting heads for years,” and even pointed to a possible power struggle within WWE.
The Rock sits on the board of TKO Group Holdings, WWE and UFC’s parent company, while Triple H remains WWE’s Chief Content Officer, a role in which he oversees creative, live events and talent development.
As of now, however, there has been no official confirmation of any recent issues between the two.
