Rhea Ripley may have become a major concern for WWE during the company’s current European tour.
On Thursday night, June 4, the reigning WWE Women’s Champion appeared at the live event held at Palacio Vistalegre in Madrid, Spain, wearing a brace on her right knee. The show was part of the WWE European Summer Tour, a run of international events that also includes this Friday’s SmackDown in Bologna, Italy.
According to fan reports from those in attendance and results later published by wrestling outlets, Ripley appeared after the match between Charlotte Flair and Jacy Jayne, which ended by disqualification due to an attack by Fatal Influence. Tiffany Stratton and Ripley made the save, but the Australian star drew attention for wearing a knee brace and appearing to have trouble leaving the ringside area.
So far, WWE has not released any medical update on a possible knee injury for Ripley. In other words, despite the concern, there is still no official confirmation that she will need to be pulled from television.

Rhea Ripley seemingly appeared at the Madrid house show with her right knee heavily padded up.
According to Contralona, the star was having trouble getting down from
the ring and was heavy on her leg. #WWE #SmackDown #WWEMadrid

The situation stands out even more because Ripley is coming off a major stretch as champion. She won the WWE Women’s Championship from Jade Cargill at WrestleMania 42 and defeated her again at Clash in Italy this past Sunday in Turin.
WWE had also already announced that this Friday’s SmackDown would feature an update on Ripley’s future following her win over Cargill, which now carries more weight after what happened in Madrid.
It remains to be seen whether the knee brace was only a precautionary measure during the tour or if WWE will need to change plans involving its top women’s champion in the coming weeks.
