Dominik Mysterio has once again become a topic of conversation backstage in WWE, this time because of how he has been used in recent weeks.
Although he remains one of the key names in the WWE-AAA connection, the current AAA Mega Champion has not been doing much in-ring work lately, leading to some internal frustration.
According to Fightful Select, there is frustration within the company over the recent lack of creative direction for Mysterio. The situation, however, is not believed to be tied to any physical concern involving him.
The belief backstage is that his recent lack of activity has more to do with WWE’s current creative priorities than any issue with Dominik himself. In other words, the company simply has not been putting him at the center of its stories right now.

The timing stands out because AAA is moving closer to Triplemanía 34, which will be held across two nights. The first night is set for September 11 at the Luxor Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, while the second night will take place on September 13 at Arena CDMX in Mexico City.
WWE will also return to Mexico that same week, with events in Guadalajara and Monterrey before bringing Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown to the country for the first time in 15 years.
Because of that, the expectation is that Mysterio will return to a more important role as the Road to Triplemanía continues, especially since he is carrying AAA’s top title.
The belief is that Dominik’s involvement will increase in the coming weeks, but there is still no confirmation on what his match at the event will be.
