Backstage morale in WWE may be worse than it appears, especially following the latest round of releases and rumors about salary reductions within the company.

During an appearance on The 2 Count podcast, Jonathan Coachman said some names still under contract with WWE have privately reached out to him to complain about the current situation. The former commentator made it clear that he has no plans to expose anyone.

“I would never out them, but I wish I could tell you. All of the people that DM me that still work there or have a direct line there that are so upset. No matter what their paycheck is.”

Coachman also said the issue goes beyond money. According to him, some talent are tired of traveling to shows knowing they will not be valued or used in any meaningful way on WWE programming.

His comments come during a delicate period for WWE. There had previously been reports of talent being approached about taking pay cuts, in some cases involving names with high salaries and limited television exposure.

The post-WrestleMania 42 cuts have also continued to generate discussion. Dave Meltzer pointed to Triple H as the main person responsible for the release decisions, while Fightful Select reported that Triple H, Nick Khan, and Talent Relations were the key figures involved in the process.

The contrast has also drawn attention because TKO recently released its first-quarter 2026 results, with WWE generating $475.7 million in revenue, up 22% from the same period the previous year.

As of now, WWE has not publicly commented on Coachman’s remarks.
