Add as a preferred source on Google Penta continues to pile up major challenges as WWE Intercontinental Champion. On this week’s Monday Night RAW, the Mexican star retained the title against Je’Von Evans and, shortly after, made it clear who could be next in line.
Backstage, Penta was shown speaking with Rey Mysterio and told the WWE Hall of Famer to talk to Adam Pearce about an Intercontinental Championship match next week.
The potential match has not been made official by WWE, but it would make sense within Penta’s current title reign. He is coming off two major defenses in a matter of days, first against Ethan Page at Saturday Night’s Main Event and then against Evans on RAW.
Rey, meanwhile, was recently in the title picture, competing in the Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match at WrestleMania 42, where Penta walked out as the winner.
The next Monday Night RAW will take place on June 1 at the Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy, one day after Clash in Italy.

Now the question is whether Adam Pearce will make the match between the two masked stars official, putting Penta across the ring from one of the biggest names in lucha libre history in WWE.
