WWE has officially moved Roman Reigns back to heel on the company’s internal roster, according to False Finish. The current World Heavyweight Champion is now listed as a heel in backstage documentation.
The shift lines up with Reigns’ on-screen character, which has increasingly reverted to the authoritarian behavior that defined him at the height of The Bloodline.
On the August 17 RAW in Buffalo, New York, Reigns declared Jimmy and Jey Uso his “made men” and placed the Ula Falas around both their necks. Jacob Fatu, who was present for the segment, made it clear he wasn’t happy about it.
Moments later, Reigns ordered The Usos to hold LA Knight and demanded Solo Sikoa attack him. Solo refused and instead caught Roman with a Samoan Spike. Knight then connected with a BFT on Reigns, while Fatu stayed in the corner and made no move to help his family.
The reclassification comes during Reigns’ renewed run as world champion. He defeated Seth Rollins in the SummerSlam main event on August 2 and retained the World Heavyweight Championship.
