AJ Styles believes Giulia’s quick loss to Lash Legend on the latest WWE SmackDown may only be the beginning of something bigger.
His comments came after a negative reaction from fans, who questioned the decision to have Giulia lose so fast in a match to determine the final entrant into the Ladder Match for the interim WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam.
“There may be a story there based on the match that happened. Just because the match happened doesn’t mean we can’t go back to it and tell a story. Maybe this is the start of a story for Giulia, where she comes back and wins that match. I’m not sure, but before we get pissed off about what’s going on with Giulia, let’s see where it goes. Let’s give it a second.”
The match took place on the July 31 episode of SmackDown and lasted less than three minutes. Shortly after the show, Giulia made it clear that she plans to use the loss as motivation to work her way back into the Women’s Championship picture.
“To everyone who was rooting for me… I’m sorry this is how it turned out. But here’s the thing… Don’t fucking worry about me. I’m stubborn as hell. I don’t fucking quit. I’m tough as nails. This is what drives me. Bring it all the fuck on. I’ll get through whatever comes my way. Come at me, all of you.”
Giulia has already won the NXT Women’s Championship and held the Women’s United States Championship twice since joining WWE. However, she was left off the WrestleMania 42 card and, following her loss to Legend, also did not compete at SummerSlam.
