Becky Lynch is once again calling for WWE’s women’s division to get more space in the company’s main event picture.
Appearing on What’s Your Story? with Stephanie McMahon, the former Women’s Intercontinental Champion said that, looking ahead, she believes women will main event more WrestleManias than men.
“I find, no offense, not throwing the lads under the bus, there’s some great dudes and there’s some great up-and-coming dudes. When I look at the future, I think the women are going to be main event more Mania than the dudes because I think the well of potential. There’s a lot of talent and they’re just such colorful personalities and all very athletic and all they understand the in-ring psychology which is there’s a lot of care I think put in and there’s a lot of thought put into people’s characters I feel and I think yeah there’s just a lot of life. There’s just a lot of life in that division. A lot of life and there’s a lot of stories to be told and we’re getting to tell them and it’s awesome. It’s an awesome time.”
Lynch’s comments come after she had already been pushing for changes in how WWE positions its women’s wrestlers. In a recent interview on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, she said the company’s main events had repeatedly gone to the same “two, three, or four guys.”
At WrestleMania 42, the women once again had a major presence on the card. Becky defeated AJ Lee to win the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, Liv Morgan beat Stephanie Vaquer for the Women’s World Championship, and Rhea Ripley defeated Jade Cargill for the WWE Women’s Championship.
However, none of those matches were placed in a particularly prominent position on the card.
