Charlotte Flair revealed that she tried to bring a very different version of her character to WWE for her 2025 return after more than a year away from the ring.
Speaking to The Ringer Wrestling, The Queen said she wanted to return with dark hair, a black robe, and a “dark evil queen” persona. However, WWE ultimately did not use the idea.
Flair explained that she wanted something completely opposite from what fans were used to seeing, especially because the Flair name has always been associated with blonde hair and the more classic presentation of her character.

Flair was sidelined for all of 2024 after suffering ACL, MCL, and meniscus injuries in December 2023. She returned at the 2025 Royal Rumble, where she won the women’s match by last eliminating Roxanne Perez.
Although the change did not happen at the time, Charlotte has not ruled out using the idea in the future. According to her, nothing is stopping that darker version from appearing at some point in her career.
