CM Punk has been off WWE programming since the Monday Night RAW after WrestleMania 42, when he appeared after losing the World Heavyweight Championship to Roman Reigns.
His absence drew more attention in recent days after Punk was removed from several promotional materials for WWE’s European tour, which begins May 28 in Liverpool. WWE had previously advertised him as one of the names set for the European Summer Tour.
According to Fightful Select, the explanation given by people in WWE was simply a “schedule change.” Punk reportedly gave the same reason to Sean Ross Sapp, though the exact reason for his extended absence remains unclear.
It is worth pointing out that Punk said on RAW after WrestleMania that he did not plan on taking a long vacation, which has only added to the questions surrounding his absence.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Punk has also been pulled from June RAW dates. Even so, he is still listed for certain specific events, including the June 22 Raw at The O2 Arena in London, though everything remains subject to change.
Outside WWE, Punk was seen last weekend at the MMA event between Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano, which streamed on Netflix. Rousey won the fight in just 17 seconds, on a show that peaked at nearly 17 million global viewers.
As of now, WWE has not officially announced when Punk will return to television.
