CM Punk lost to Chad Gable in an upset at a WWE house show. It was their first one-on-one match.
The two met on Thursday at the Covelli Centre in Youngstown, Ohio, during the Road to Survivor Series: WarGames tour. Gable, the Intercontinental Champion, won by pinfall in a non-title match.
Near the end, Punk hit a hurricanrana off the top rope. The two then traded roll-up attempts until Gable kept Punk’s shoulders down for the three count.
Gable pinned Punk clean, without any outside interference.
Punk showed respect to Gable after the match. He shook hands with Gable and raised his hand in the center of the ring in front of the fans.

Gable became Intercontinental Champion on August 2 at SummerSlam by forcing Penta to tap out. The win gave him his first singles title in WWE.
The loss was Punk’s first at a WWE house show.
At the previous two shows on the Road to Survivor Series tour, Punk defeated Sami Zayn by DQ on October 22 and teamed with Danhausen for a win over Kit Wilson and The Miz on October 15.
Punk’s next TV match has been announced. He and Kevin Owens will meet in a No Holds Barred match on Friday’s SmackDown.
