Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno defeated Los Americanos (Rayo Americano and Bravo Americano) in Tuesday’s NXT opener to become the first team to advance in the 2026 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.
The match officially kicked off the tournament. Los Americanos had their moments and came very close to winning. Late in the match, though, Moreno tagged in Dar, and the two hit a double-team move on Bravo before scoring the pinfall for the win.
This year’s Dusty Classic features 14 teams. The reigning WWE NXT Tag Team Champions, Vanity Project, and the AAA Tag Team Champions, El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. and Galeno, received byes to the second round.
The 2026 edition is also the first men’s Dusty Classic since 2024, when Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin won it.
Dar and Moreno have been teaming up over the last few months. They lost to Fraxiom in June and beat Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux on Sept. 1 before falling to the Creed Brothers a week later.
