WWE Announces New Names for Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic

WWE is filling out the field for its 2026 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, which returns to NXT next Tuesday, September 22, following a two-year absence.

Six teams were confirmed for the tournament on Saturday: Mini Vikingo and Chazz “Starboy” Hall, Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer and Axiom), Los Americanos (Rayo Americano and Bravo Americano), Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno, DarkState (Cutler James and Osiris Griffin), and BirthRight (Uriah Connors and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo).

The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) were previously announced for the field. NXT Tag Team Champions The Vanity Project (Ricky Smokes and Brad Baylor) and AAA World Tag Team Champions The Wagner Brothers (El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. and Galeno) were also previously confirmed.

In all, 14 teams will compete in the tournament, with representatives from NXT, Monday Night RAW, Friday Night SmackDown, WWE EVOLVE, and AAA. More teams will be announced on Sunday, September 20.

The Creed Brothers won the Dusty Classic in 2022, defeating MSK in the final. In the most recent edition in 2024, Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin defeated Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams to claim the trophy.

Fraxiom and the team of Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno have recent history. On June 9, Frazer and Axiom returned to NXT and defeated the duo. Months later, the two teams find themselves on opposite sides of the tournament.
