Heidenreich, a former WWE name from the Ruthless Aggression Era, recently caught the attention of pro-wrestling fans again after being seen working at a Walmart.

The photo recently went viral on social media and led the former wrestler to give his first major interview in more than a decade on Insight with Chris Van Vliet. During the conversation, Heidenreich confirmed that he works overnight, stocking shelves.

Despite the surprise from many fans, the former WWE Tag Team Champion made it clear that he is happy with his life today.

“I couldn’t ask for a better life.”

Heidenreich said he does not usually talk about his WWE run at work unless wrestling comes up. According to him, one co-worker discovered who he was after looking into his career, and from there, other employees started treating him like a “superstar” inside the store.

The former wrestler also said he lives in New Orleans, a city he considers home, and showed appreciation for the positive response. He said that, at first, he thought people were mocking him for working at Walmart, but he later found out that most of the comments were supportive.

Heidenreich also revealed that he is not physically able to return to the ring for a full match. The former WWE star said he is dealing with heart issues, degenerative arthritis, back pain, and the need for a left knee replacement, though he noted that his blood pressure and weight are better now.

In WWE, Heidenreich is best remembered for his alliance with Road Warrior Animal. In 2005, the two formed a new version of the Legion of Doom and won the WWE Tag Team Championship by defeating MNM at The Great American Bash.

His time with the company came to an end in 2006. In the interview, Heidenreich admitted that poor personal decisions, tardiness, and pain medication use contributed to his release. Today, he says he has been clean for around ten years.
