Je’Von Evans wanted his WWE music to get the crowd in a good mood and jumping even before his matches begin.
In an interview with KGSO Radio, Evans said he has had that reaction in mind since he got to NXT. Once he heard the beat and the lyrics, he felt the song was a good fit for the energy he wanted to create in the arena.
“I think when I came into NXT, or came into WWE in general, I wanted something that would kind of just get the crowd in a good mood, you know what I mean?” Evans said. “So once I heard the beat of this and the lyrics, I was like, okay, I feel like this will get the crowd, you know, jumping a little bouncy, you know what I mean?”
Evans comes out to “Who Want It” by def rebel featuring J-Frost. The song was released on June 18, 2024.
Before that, he used “Posted at the Trap” by Justin Thompson during his first few months in NXT. When he was working the independent scene under the name Jay Malachi, his music was “Red Opps” by 21 Savage.
Evans has revealed the music he wants to use for a special occasion. On The Wrestling Classic in August, Evans named “Shook Ones (Part II)” by Mobb Deep as an option for a potential WrestleMania entrance. The 21 Savage song was one of his options as well.
Evans also appeared on KFAN Radio, and he picked “Alright” by Kendrick Lamar as a song he wants to come out to. He said it was the first song he heard from Lamar, back when he was still a kid.
It’s not the first time Evans has focused on the crowd reaction. On the Battleground Podcast in April, Evans said Shawn Michaels told him to stay true to himself and have fun during his time in NXT. He said following the advice on Raw has helped him have a good time with the fans.
