Samantha Irvin responded to a fan who accused her of lying about her career plans, mainly because she released music even though she said she had no interest in working in the music business.

The exchange started on X when the fan questioned Irvin’s comments. He pointed out that she recorded and released songs shortly after leaving WWE, which, in his view, contradicted her stance.

“Wait…wait…wait….so, the chick that worked on and released music shortly after her WWE release is claiming she wasn’t interested in the music business,” the fan said. “Yo, people just wake up and lie.”

Irvin replied on Monday and said she has been releasing music independently since 2013. She also brought up her non-compete clause with WWE and compared herself to someone who knits a piece of clothing without necessarily wanting to start a business.

“the chick who has independently released songs since 2013 and had a 2 year non compete made art,” Irvin said. “just cause your nana knitted you a sweater doesn’t mean she’s started a clothing line, bruh.”

The fan stuck with his argument that Irvin was contradicting herself and said the conversation was over.

“Holy s***,” the fan said. “Lmao so, you released songs since 2013, but wanted nothing to do with the music business. Yeah, we’re done here lmfao.”

Irvin responded again and asked whether he really understood what working in the music business means.

“do you know what the music business is?” Irvin said. “Yes, we are definitely done here lol.”

The exchange came after Irvin revealed in an X post on Saturday that WWE offered her a music contract before she left the company. She said she turned down the offer because her goal in pro wrestling was to work as a manager.

She also explained that the songs she released in 2025 were independent projects she made for fun with former colleagues from Cirque du Soleil.

“I made some songs last year for fun & videos with my colleagues from Cirque du Soleil and released independently for my singing fans from before wrestling but other than that, I made no proclamations about or efforts towards a ‘music’ career,” Irvin said.

Irvin had already expressed interest in working as a manager when she spoke about leaving WWE in October 2024. At the time, she said the ring announcer job was only supposed to be a stepping stone to other roles with the company, including general manager.

But Irvin’s latest explanation is at odds with a report Dave Meltzer published in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter in September. Meltzer wrote that Irvin left WWE to pursue a singing career. She had already pushed back on that idea in 2025, when she said she didn’t leave the company because of music.
