Jinder Mahal, who left WWE in April 2024 after being released by the company, revealed that he still does not feel fully satisfied with how his run came to an end.
During an appearance on TMZ’s Inside the Ring, the former WWE Champion said he wished he had received a better sendoff, rather than just a phone call telling him his contract was over.
“I didn’t feel like I got satisfaction out of how my WWE career ended, just abruptly out of nowhere, not being used for several weeks and then just a phone call.”
“I’d love to do a loser leaves town, and ride off into the sunset that way. Very few of us get to do this where you call your shot, call the way your WWE career ends, end it on your terms.”
“That’s one thing I wish I could experience, but if it doesn’t happen, that’s all good”
Mahal was part of a round of WWE releases in 2024, alongside names such as Veer Mahaan, Sanga, Xia Li, and Xyon Quinn. His exit came just months after a high-profile segment with The Rock on Raw and a match against Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Since then, he has gone back to using the name Raj Dhesi and started making appearances on the independent scene, including GCW events. In February 2025, he said no official talks had taken place with AEW and that he would only sign with another major company if the story, money, and position made sense.
