Eric André was one of the most unexpected names on the latest episode of WWE RAW, which took place last night in Baltimore, Maryland.
The actor and comedian appeared in the front row during the opening segment involving Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, and Jacob Fatu. The moment ended with Fatu attacking André in the ring after the comedian tried to interact with the new Ula Fala given to the “Samoan Werewolf.”
According to PWInsider, the segment had a direct promotional reason behind it. André is one of the stars of Little Brother, the new Netflix comedy also starring John Cena, which will be added to the platform on June 26.
Little Brother follows a famous real estate agent, played by Cena, whose life is completely turned upside down when his “little brother,” played by André, unexpectedly reappears. Michelle Monaghan, Christopher Meloni, Sherry Cola, Ego Nwodim, and Caleb Hearon are also part of the cast.
In other words, André’s RAW appearance was part of a promotional agreement between WWE, Netflix, and the film’s release, tying together Cena’s involvement in the project and the show’s weekly broadcast on the platform.
It remains unclear whether André will appear on WWE programming again, but the attack helped reinforce Fatu’s position in this new chapter of The Bloodline.
