Add as a preferred source on Google Kevin Owens has taken another step forward in his recovery from the neck injury that has kept him off WWE TV for nearly a year and a half.
Fightful Select reports that the former Universal Champion was at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando and worked out at the facility this week. Owens has also made the trip to Minneapolis, where WWE runs both nights of SummerSlam at U.S. Bank Stadium this weekend.
There’s been no word on whether Owens has resumed in-ring training or been cleared to wrestle.
Owens hasn’t had a match since Elimination Chamber on March 1, 2025, when he beat Sami Zayn in an Unsanctioned Match in Toronto. He was booked against Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41, but the match was scrapped after Owens announced he needed neck surgery.
In a further update on Kevin Owens, it was learned that he was training at the WWE PC this week.

He underwent the procedure on July 18, 2025. At the time, Owens made it clear there was no guarantee he’d get back in the ring, since his recovery hinged on how his bones took to the cervical fusion.
This isn’t the first time Owens has been back at the PC since the surgery. Last November, he posted a video of himself running at the facility while still early in rehab. This week’s session, roughly 13 months post-op, is another sign of progress, but it’s not confirmation of an in-ring return.
Owens has stayed in the mix while on the shelf, handling promotional work and serving as a coach on season three of WWE LFG. He also turned up for a special event ahead of NXT Great American Bash on June 28 at the Performance Center.
