WWE Money in the Bank 2026 has undergone another date change, but the move apparently was not random or a last-minute call.

As WWE officially announced, the premium live event will now take place on Saturday, October 10, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. Before that, the event was scheduled for September 6, after already being moved from its original date of August 29.

According to Fightful Select, the change had been hinted at for some time, including in recent Q&A and Select Answers posts. Now, WWE sources claim the decision was made because of a scheduling issue involving the company’s broadcast partners.

The update also noted that the move was not something WWE decided in a rush. The new date had reportedly been planned for more than a month and was known by several people within the company.

In other words, even though the official announcement only came now, WWE had already been working internally with Money in the Bank being off the September date for quite some time.

This is another curious chapter involving the event, which will be held in New Orleans as part of the compensation for WrestleMania 42 being moved out of the city. New Orleans was originally set to host the Showcase of the Immortals, but WWE ended up taking the event to Las Vegas for the second consecutive year.

As a result, Money in the Bank began being treated as a major event for the city, even if it now sits in a very unusual spot on the calendar. Traditionally, the show takes place between May and July, serving as one of WWE’s major turning points of the year.

Now, with the event being held in October, the company will have to deal with a different dynamic. The briefcase winners will have less time for build before the final stretch of the season, which could directly change how WWE plans to use the cash-ins.

So far, no matches have been announced for the event. WWE has only confirmed that tickets will go on sale on July 10, with a presale scheduled for the previous day.
