WWE already has a new special scheduled for September 6. According to WWE’s own official website, the company will hold a Sunday Night’s Main Event at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

The date stands out because it was previously reserved for Money in the Bank. The premium live event, however, has been moved again and will now take place on Saturday, October 10, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.

With that, WWE will turn a date that had been set aside for one of its major PLEs into a television special. The name will also be adjusted for the occasion, since the traditional Saturday Night’s Main Event will take place on a Sunday.

As of now, no matches have been announced for the Atlanta show.

What changes on WWE’s calendar

The move puts Money in the Bank in an unusual spot this year. Historically, the event has taken place in the middle of the year, serving as a bridge between WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and the final stretch toward Survivor Series. In 2026, however, the briefcase concept will be pushed to October, already in the final quarter of WWE’s calendar.

WWE, on the other hand, did not leave September 6 empty. Sunday Night’s Main Event will take place between the September 4 episode of Friday Night SmackDown in Cincinnati and the September 7 episode of Monday Night RAW in Birmingham, creating a run of three shows in four days.

Atlanta was not chosen at random, either. In July 2025, State Farm Arena hosted the Saturday Night’s Main Event that featured Goldberg’s final career match, where he lost to Gunther in a World Heavyweight Championship bout.

The city remains one of WWE’s more prominent markets in the United States. Atlanta has hosted events such as WrestleMania XXVII, Survivor Series 2015, the 2002 and 2010 Royal Rumble events, Day 1 in 2022, and Bad Blood in 2024.

It is also worth remembering that the next edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event will take place on Saturday, July 18, at Madison Square Garden in New York, with no wrestlers officially featured on the event page yet.
