Opening Match for Tonight’s WWE SmackDown Revealed

The October 9 episode of SmackDown is expected to feature a big match involving every competitor in the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match, which is set for tomorrow at WWE’s next premium live event.

According to Viper Reports, a six-woman tag team match is currently listed as the opener for tonight’s show at the Cajundome in Lafayette, Louisiana.

The six women in the match are Tiffany Stratton, Roxanne Perez, Jacy Jayne, Lash Legend, Sol Ruca and Lola Vice. The team lineups have not been revealed yet.

Last week’s SmackDown hinted at the match when General Manager Nick Aldis announced that all of the competitors in the Men’s and Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Matches would be on hand this week and should bring their ring gear.

Of the six, only Stratton has won the briefcase before. She won the 2024 Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match and cashed in the contract in January 2025, defeating Nia Jax to win the WWE Women’s Championship.

Roxanne Perez is also in a unique position heading into the event. A member of The Judgment Day, Perez interfered when Liv Morgan and Becky Lynch met on Monday’s RAW, and the match ended without a winner. As a result, a Triple Threat match for the Women’s World Championship was announced, featuring Morgan, Lynch and champion Stephanie Vaquer.

Jacy Jayne will head into tonight’s SmackDown as the Women’s United States Champion. Her Fatal Influence stablemates, Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid, will also be in action, defending the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship against Charlotte Flair and Tatum Paxley.

Money in the Bank is set for tomorrow, October 10, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans and will stream live on the ESPN App starting at 6 p.m. ET.
