Speaking to Infobae México, Penta revealed Cody saw it coming years ago. He told Penta his mask belonged on a global stage and needed a major company to reach the world.
“He didn’t know me. He told me I was incredible, but I needed to get to a big company, because that face and that mask needed to be seen all over the world.”
Penta said Cody also promised he would become a worldwide star in the right place. He told him he would remember that talk one day. The Mexican star believes that prediction came true when he signed with WWE.

The timing stands out. Penta debuted on the January 13, 2025, episode of Monday Night RAW and beat Chad Gable in his first official match. He has since become one of the most popular stars in the men’s division.
At WrestleMania 42, he put the title on the line in a Ladder Match against Rey Mysterio, Dragon Lee, Je’Von Evans, Rusev and JD McDonagh. He retained in one of the show’s most chaotic bouts.
Penta also made it clear he is open to facing Cody again. This time he wants it to happen inside a WWE ring.
