The Wyatt Sicks have come to an end in WWE following the company’s latest wave of releases, which took place during the first week after WrestleMania 42.

Alongside Bo Dallas (Uncle Howdy), Nikki Cross, Erick Rowan, Dexter Lumis, and Joe Gacy, more than 20 names were included in one of the largest release lists in company history, featuring Aleister Black, Zelina Vega, Kairi Sane, and the Motor City Machine Guns.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, while shocking, the release of Bo Dallas’ entire stable was not exactly surprising.

The journalist noted that although WWE gave the group significant attention and television time, there had always been skepticism within the creative team, as the faction never fully connected with the audience.

“They invested heavily from the very beginning. People inside the company were telling me from day one that it wasn’t going to work. I personally thought that, in the short term, nostalgia for Bray Wyatt would carry the project and create a strong early surge. Not even that happened. Maybe it worked for the first two or three weeks, but it quickly became clear it wouldn’t deliver what they expected.”

Meltzer also said that the group winning the WWE Tag Team Championship was surprising, since in his view the faction was already showing clear signs of creative failure at that point.

“After that, they were just taking up space for months. Even so, they recently gave them the tag titles, which shocked me. But it was obvious it had no long-term future. Especially after the first month, it was clear this was a project with a short shelf life. This ending doesn’t surprise me at all.”
