Add as a preferred source on Google Rey Fenix may be trying to change the direction of his WWE run. The wrestler reacted to the official announcement of the match between Penta and Ethan Page for the Intercontinental Championship and made it clear that he also wants an opportunity at the title.
On his X account, Fenix responded to WWE’s post about the match at Saturday Night’s Main Event, set for May 23, saying that he loves his brother, but would like to have his chance.
Fenix said the following:
Penta is in the middle of a major spotlight run in WWE. The current Intercontinental Champion won the title by defeating Dominik Mysterio and, since then, has already defended the belt against names such as Je’Von Evans, Rey Mysterio, Dragon Lee, Rusev, and JD McDonagh in the WrestleMania 42 Ladder Match.
Page, on the other hand, earned the opportunity after arriving on RAW from NXT.
Fenix’s situation, however, is very different. Despite the huge prestige he earned alongside Penta as part of the Lucha Brothers before they arrived in WWE, he has still not managed to get a major singles spotlight in the company, appearing more in lower-card matches and outside the company’s main programs.
