As of Thursday, Roman Reigns has been WWE World Heavyweight Champion for 200 days, and he has made five title defenses in that time.
Reigns won the title in the Night Two main event of WrestleMania 42 on April 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. He beat CM Punk with two spears.
Since then, Reigns has defended the title against four different challengers. He defeated Jacob Fatu twice, at Backlash on May 9 in Tampa, Florida, and at Clash in Italy in a Tribal Combat match. Reigns then retained against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam, Penta on Raw on September 14 in Mexico City, and LA Knight at Money in the Bank on October 10 in New Orleans.
That gives Reigns the third-longest reign in the history of the World Heavyweight title, which was created in 2023. Only Gunther and Rollins have held it longer. Gunther held it for 259 days from August 2024 to April 2025, and Rollins, the inaugural champion, had it for 316 days from May 2023 to April 2024.
If he is still the champion, Reigns will pass Gunther on January 4, 2027, and Rollins on March 2, both before WrestleMania 43.
Up next for Reigns is WWE Crown Jewel on Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He will wrestle Undisputed WWE Champion Sami Zayn in a Champion vs. Champion match for the Men’s Crown Jewel Championship.
The World Heavyweight title will not be on the line. But Penta, who lost to Reigns in Mexico City, won the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match and can cash in his title shot at any time.
