Eric Young is back with WWE, this time working backstage as a producer for NXT.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported that Young began working in the role in July.
“I don’t know if he will wrestle.”
Fightful Select provided more details on Young’s return. The outlet noted that Triple H has long had a good relationship with Young and assured him of a job in WWE whenever he wanted to return.
Young left TNA on July 1 after asking for his release. When he left, he also clarified publicly that he had been under contract with TNA all along, not just working on a verbal agreement as had been reported.
Young started earlier than originally expected. In July, Dave Meltzer reported that Young’s return could come in September. That plan had Young in the same kind of role Shawn Spears has in NXT, where he works as both a coach and a wrestler.
This is Young’s third run with WWE. He worked for the company from 2016 to 2020 and led SAnitY during that time before re-signing with WWE in November 2022.
But he never appeared on TV during his second run.
