Roman Reigns hit an unprecedented milestone in his WWE career this week. The current World Heavyweight Champion has now held the title for 80 days, marking his longest world championship reign as a babyface.
The OTC won the title on April 19, defeating CM Punk in the main event of night two of WrestleMania 42. He’s made two successful defenses since then, both against Jacob Fatu — the first at Backlash on May 9, and the second at Clash in Italy in a Tribal Combat Match on May 31.
The new mark tops the 77-day reign Reigns had with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship back in 2016. That time around, he beat Triple H at WrestleMania 32, defended the title twice against AJ Styles, and dropped it to Seth Rollins at Money in the Bank.

The mark applies only to the time Reigns has spent as a babyface. His longest reign overall remains the 1,316 days he held the WWE Universal Championship, during his historic run as Tribal Chief.
Coincidentally, Seth Rollins will be Reigns’ next challenger. The former Shield stablemates will battle for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam, set for August 1-2 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
