Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins closed out Monday’s RAW in Dallas, Texas, with a major confrontation that made their World Heavyweight Championship match at WWE SummerSlam official.
Adam Pearce brought both men out to the ring, and Rollins was the first to sign the contract. The Visionary needled Reigns, saying some things in life are certain — including the fact that he always gets the better of him.
Reigns fired back, calling Rollins his No. 1 hater and accusing him of tricking the fans into believing the two of them are on the same level. He promised to show at SummerSlam exactly who holds the top spot in WWE.
Once Reigns signed as well, Rollins thanked him for keeping the title warm and started to walk away. The OTC wasn’t done, though — he called Rollins back and asked whether he could handle the weight of being the company’s top guy all over again.
Reigns then brought up Rollins’ injury history, saying he only became champion because of Money in the Bank.
Rollins shot back that the two of them aren’t fighting for the same thing, adding that he’s proud to represent something completely different. He then landed the first shot, and the brawl was on.
Reigns answered with a Superman Punch and even tried to powerbomb Rollins through the announce table. Rollins, though, cracked him over the head with the microphone before following up with a Pedigree and a Curb Stomp, closing out RAW standing tall over Reigns.
The SummerSlam match will be the first one-on-one bout between Rollins and Reigns since Royal Rumble 2022, when Reigns lost by disqualification. Rollins holds a slight edge in their head-to-head history, with five wins, four losses and one draw.
SummerSlam will take place August 1-2 in Minnesota.
