Seth Rollins did not like hearing Roman Reigns claim that he made the World Heavyweight Championship relevant again on WWE programming.
In a recent interview with Prince St. Pizza, Rollins commented on the OTC’s current title reign and made it clear that he still sees the championship as directly tied to the period when he held the title.
“So you’ve got two of my worst enemies fighting each other for my title in my main event and I have to watch that. I have to swallow that. So it’s really difficult for me to feel any which way other than disgusted by the result… now Roman Reigns is walking around with my title talking about how he made the title relevant, which is uh, bullshit — I’ll say it. It’s complete bullshit. He knows it, I know it, everybody else knows it.
“He sounds like an idiot when he says it.”
Rollins was the first champion of the new version of the World Heavyweight Championship, winning the title at Night of Champions 2023 by defeating AJ Styles.
Reigns, meanwhile, won the championship at WrestleMania 42, defeating CM Punk in the main event of Night Two of the Showcase of Immortals.
Since then, the OTC has defended the title against Jacob Fatu at Backlash and Clash in Italy, retaining the championship on both occasions.
Rollins is currently in the King of the Ring tournament, with the winner set to receive a world title opportunity at SummerSlam on August 1 and 2 in Minneapolis. Because of that, another match between Rollins and Reigns remains a strong possibility in the coming months.
