Sgt. Slaughter, one of the most popular names in WWE and G.I. Joe history, announced that a live-action production based on his famous military character is in development.
In a post on X, the WWE Hall of Famer unveiled the project and shared a teaser. The production is being billed as Slaughter: The Origin Story, but no release date has been officially confirmed.
“To ALL My Incredible, Loyal WRESTLING & G.I. JOE Fan Base…This Is Robert Remus, AKA: Sgt Slaughter & I Am Very Excited To Announce, That A Live-Action Movie, A Story Based On My Fictional Military Character, Is In The Works. It Is Something That I’ve Visualized & Worked Tirelessly, To Have One Day, Arrive To The Paramount, The Silver Screen.”
The teaser is set in 1983, with Slaughter as an instructor still dealing with the aftermath of battles in Cambodia in 1978. After losing his combat role, he’s called back into action when a hostage crisis breaks out on Diablo Island.
Slaughter also asked fans for their support.

Sgt. Slaughter’s connection to G.I. Joe goes way back. The character was turned into an action figure and appeared in both the comics and the animated series. Remus left WWE in 1985 to pursue that opportunity. Years later, Slaughter returned and won the WWE Championship by defeating The Ultimate Warrior at the 1991 Royal Rumble.
