Taya Valkyrie is no longer with AEW. Valkyrie announced on Wednesday afternoon that she declined AEW’s offer of a new deal, which ends her run of more than three and a half years with the company.
On X, Valkyrie shared a statement from her team, which said the decision was made after lengthy talks about her future. So she wasn’t released, and it was Valkyrie’s decision to leave.
Valkyrie thanked AEW for her time with the company and the friends she made in the locker room, and emphasized that she has “a lot more to leave in the ring.”
“With my contract now concluded, I’m excited to explore new opportunities,” Valkyrie wrote.

Valkyrie debuted in AEW on March 15, 2023, during Dynamite in Winnipeg, Canada, when she confronted Jade Cargill, who was the TBS Champion at the time.
In recent years, Valkyrie started appearing more often in ROH as part of MxM TV with her husband Johnny TV, Mansoor, and Mason Madden.
Valkyrie’s last match on AEW programming was on November 15, 2025, on Collision in Erie, Pennsylvania, almost a year ago. But her last match for the company was taped on January 10 in Arlington, Texas, and aired on ROH TV five days later.
