The Undertaker Reportedly Behind Sami Zayn’s Win on WWE SmackDown

The Undertaker reportedly played a direct role in one of the biggest WWE title changes in recent months, involving Sami Zayn and CM Punk.

On the September 11 SmackDown at Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Zayn defeated Punk in the main event to win the Undisputed WWE Championship for the second time. Johnny Gargano, Candice LeRae and Kevin Owens all got involved in the closing moments before Zayn hit a Helluva Kick and scored the pin.

According to SelfMadeDW, The Undertaker was listed as the producer of the match. He was also reportedly the driving force behind the decision to put the title on Zayn and end Punk’s reign.

Zayn had won the world title for the first time at Night of Champions on June 27, defeating Cody Rhodes and Gunther in a Triple Threat Match.

That reign lasted only nine days, ending on July 6 when Punk defeated him on RAW.
