Thekla took a shot at wrestlers who try to maintain an intimidating image on TV, only to show a completely different side of themselves on social media.
During an interview with TMZ’s Inside The Ring, the current AEW Women’s World Champion was asked about relationships between wrestlers, especially given the unusual lifestyle that comes with pro wrestling.
“I think I’m not sure if it’s a good idea, per se. Everybody’s a good-looking and and horny from what I can tell really. So, but I think it’s a good idea in a way that it’s obviously it’s hard to probably date somebody who isn’t immersed in your world as we live very strange lives as professional wrestlers. So, I wouldn’t want to, you know, it’s hard to explain all that, all the travel and all the horniness.”
Thekla then criticized wrestlers who build dangerous, dark, or violent characters, only to post romantic wedding photos from churches or European beaches.
“I know. I mean, but what I can tell you really what I think is a lot of very badass people, like as badass portrayed people on TV, become extremely lame when they post photos of themselves getting married in some cute little church in the middle of— on the beach in Italy or something. I think I find that whack as hell.”
“I don’t care what you do in your private life, but I wouldn’t, as a professional, I wouldn’t post that s***.”
Thekla is currently in a rivalry with STARDOM and will compete at Forbidden Door on June 28 against Starlight Kid.
