Jon Moxley became the target of harsh criticism from Bully Ray in recent days after the WWE Hall of Famer ripped into the Death Riders on Busted Open Radio.
Bully said the group “has not helped AEW in any way” and accused Moxley of living out his personal fantasies inside Tony Khan’s company. He then got even more direct: “But Moxley? I’d beat the living s**t out of him. Fraud.”
The comment quickly gained traction on social media, especially because it involved Moxley, the current AEW Continental Champion and one of the company’s most important names since 2019.
Josh Barnett did not take kindly to the remark. On his official X account, the former UFC Heavyweight Champion responded to Bully Ray and made it clear that Moxley does not need any help, but that he himself would be willing to handle the situation.
“Interesting take here ‘Bully’. Mox can handle himself just fine, so he doesn’t need me to fight any battles for him, but if you ever have the itch to feel what it would be like to have your ass kicked so thoroughly to the point of epic humiliation, I can help you with that. I can not only ‘beat the shit out of you’, but do so in a way as to make your ass kicking legendary. For you, any time. Just ask.”
Barnett and Moxley have a long-standing connection. The two faced each other at Bloodsport 6 in 2021, with Barnett defeating Moxley. Years later, they crossed paths again at Bloodsport Bushido in Japan.
Moxley remains focused on AEW. This Sunday at Forbidden Door, on June 28, he will defend the AEW Continental Championship against Bandido in a match where the Death Riders and Brody King will be banned from ringside under Continental Rules.
