TNA confirmed Monday that Max Caster will not wrestle for the company again after his entrance rap at Sunday’s Bound For Glory in Tampa, Florida, sparked a major controversy.
In an official statement, TNA condemned Caster’s references to the recent attacks in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which left multiple people dead and hundreds injured. The company also accepted responsibility for allowing the comments to air during the pay-per-view.
TNA’s statement read as follows.
“During Sunday’s Bound For Glory pay-per-view, insensitive comments were made by Max Caster referencing attacks in Riyadh that killed and injured many people. Making light of violent attacks is wrong. This should never have made it into the show, and that responsibility is ours. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and everyone affected. We sincerely apologize. We have removed the segment from replays and our social channels and are taking steps to ensure something like this never happens again. Max Caster will no longer be wrestling for TNA.”
The decision confirms an earlier report from False Finish that Caster and TNA were parting ways. According to Fightful Select, Caster’s reference to the attacks was unscripted and had not been approved by the team in charge of the show.
Caster’s exit comes on the eve of TNA iMPACT! tapings set for October 13 and 14 in Dothan, Alabama. He had been among the names under consideration for the upcoming tapings.
The departure ends Caster’s run with TNA after just one match, against Moose at Bound For Glory.
