The Royal Rumble is expected to return to the United States in 2027, just one year after WWE staged the first international edition in the event’s history.

According to the Turnbuckle Podcast, there was a plan to make the Royal Rumble a recurring international premium live event. That plan reportedly was rejected by Triple H, WWE’s current head of creative.

That leaves Phoenix, Arizona, and Miami, Florida, as the two cities under consideration to host the show in 2027. WWE has not yet officially confirmed a venue or date for the event.

The 2026 event took place on January 31 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, marking the first time the Royal Rumble was held outside North America. Roman Reigns and Liv Morgan won the men’s and women’s Royal Rumble matches, respectively.

If Phoenix is chosen, it would be the third time the city has hosted the Royal Rumble. John Cena won the 2013 Royal Rumble at the former US Airways Center, while the 2019 edition was held at Chase Field in front of 48,193 fans.

Miami, on the other hand, last hosted the Royal Rumble in 2006. That night, Rey Mysterio entered at No. 2, lasted more than an hour in the match, and eliminated Randy Orton to earn a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 22.

Even with the Royal Rumble potentially returning to the United States, WWE will hold another major international event in 2027. WrestleMania 43 is already confirmed for Riyadh, marking the first time the Showcase of the Immortals will be held outside North America.
