Saudi Arabia is moving forward with preparations for WWE Crown Jewel despite security concerns in the country.
A new video released on Friday shows that construction of Riyadh Season Stadium in Riyadh is underway for the November 7 premium live event.
The footage, which is circulating on social media, shows workers on site, metal structures going up, and parts of the stands already installed. Much of the stadium still has to be built before WWE can begin setting up its own production.
A promotional image of Liv Morgan can also be seen in the video, and some sections of the stands have already been covered.
On Thursday night, Ari Emanuel said the events scheduled in the region are still on despite all the attacks on the country.
“Right now, everything’s still set,” Emanuel said. “This weekend coming up in Abu Dhabi, we have a UFC fight. We have in the middle of November a Frieze art show. So far, so good. Nothing’s been canceled.”
Emanuel also confirmed that TKO has a team monitoring the situation daily and weighing options in case Crown Jewel has to be moved.
“Yeah, we have a whole team kind of working on this,” Emanuel said. “It’s a daily monitoring.”
The U.S. government continues to monitor the security situation. In a new alert, the U.S. Embassy urged extreme caution at Saudi airports following attacks by the Iran-backed Houthis.
Operations at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh remain suspended, while the airports in Jeddah and Dammam are dealing with delays and cancellations.
As previously reported, the U.S. government also ordered nonessential diplomatic staff and their families to leave Saudi Arabia.
PWInsider reported on Thursday that WWE was continuing its preparations for Crown Jewel and working with a security firm that specializes in the Middle East.
