WWE is set to put more focus back on its non-televised live events this summer.
According to PWInsider, Nick Khan and Paul Levesque addressed the topic during a town hall on Tuesday, telling employees that the company once again views house shows as an important tool for developing younger talent.
The idea is to give less-experienced names more ring time, allowing them to try out new things and get a better feel for working in front of different crowds. At the same time, WWE does not plan to build these events entirely around developmental talent.
According to the report, Khan and Levesque made it clear that the plan is to find a balance between newer talent and established stars, without creating a schedule heavy enough to increase the risk of injuries.
The change comes just days after WWE announced 10 new dates for its Summer Tour 2026, with events running from July 11 through August 30 in cities including Las Cruces, Albuquerque, Allentown, Stockton, Bakersfield, Springfield, Fairfax, Manchester, Savannah and Charleston.
WWE had significantly reduced its house show schedule in the United States after the pandemic, prioritizing televised events and international tours.
The company had been presenting that reduction as part of a strategy to create more scarcity in the North American market.
